How to Find Your Personal Style

I want to start off by saying that Personal Style doesn’t have to be about wearing what is currently trendy (unless of course, you feel good in those clothes), personal style is about wearing clothes that you feel comfortable in and that make you feel confident. I didn’t discover my own style until 2/3 years ago, it takes time but it can work for you also!

Discovering your own style is not as daunting as it seems. You can have fun with it, try scouring your local charity/vintage shops and pick out different pieces that catch your eye and see how it feels when you try those clothes on! Do they make you feel empowered? Do you feel confident wearing them? and more importantly do you feel comfortable in them?

Alternatively, you can go on to Pinterest and make a board of what your dream style looks like and use that as inspiration on shopping trips! Making moodboards can also help to see what colours you’ve got more of on there!

Trying out new styles is a good way for you to find your personal style because it allows you to figure out exactly what styles suit you and feel best in! Build a stable wardrobe with pieces you can wear each season that can make picking out outfits every morning that much easier have fun and maybe even try planning outfits out for the week!

Think clearly about what you like wearing and what you don’t like wearing, for example I personally don’t like wearing jeans I don’t feel comfortable in them at all so I avoid wearing them where possible.

Find your fashion inspiration, whether that’s a famous person whose outfits you love, or watching a tv show or movie that has amazing outfits in it! Whatever that looks like, use it as an inspiration for your own outfits.

and Finally, look in your own wardrobe and see what clothes you love and feel good in or clothes you reach for frequently and build on that by styling different outfits together! Have fun with it and put on your own fashion show at home by trying them all on!

I really hope these tips help any of you that are struggling with your style or if you just want to try something new ultimately, the clothes we wear should make us feel good so whatever that means to you wear it, whether that’s more casual styles or dressed up styles as long as you feel good in them that’s most important.

With love,

Lillie xo
